VSP Network Expansion and VSP Affiliate Program

Starting in January 2015, participants in the VSP vision plan will have more provider options.

VSP has expanded its network of retail providers to provide patients with greater choice and access. New retail chain VSP Affiliate providers include Costco Optical, Eye Centers of America Inc., Visionworks—this includes EyeMaster and Hour Eyes—Wisconsin Vision, Walmart, and Heartland Vision.  Together, these retailers offer more than 1,000 optical stores across the country.

At a VSP Affiliate provider:

• Secure, HIPAA-compliant systems confirm eligibility and bill VSP directly on behalf of your employees
• No forms are required—your employees only pay copays, cost over coverage amounts, and non-covered options
• Eye Health Management Program data can be reported by providers to VSP to promote routine preventative healthcare

VSP’s Affiliate Program includes Walmart and Costco
With the expansion of the VSP network, VSP participants now have the option to receive vision services at all Walmart and Costco locations through the VSP Affiliate Program. While the expansion of the VSP provider network has increased access for participants, please note the following exclusions to the VSP Affiliate Program:

• Vision services for Costco and Walmart:
  • There is a maximum $80 frame allowance
  • Extra savings promotions are not available

• Vision services with all VSP Affiliate providers:
  • The safety benefit cannot be used
  • Contact lens allowance only applies to the materials at all participating retail chains
