Updates to UMR’s COBRA Portal
COBRA administration by UMR is going to transition to a new COBRA portal at the end of September. The new portal will bring new administration enhancements to benefits administrators and qualified beneficiaries, including:
- COBRA election notices and reporting will see slight naming changes in the program tier level they have elected. For example, the current primary qualified beneficiary-only tier will change to employee-only tier.
- A new COBRA portal will be available to qualified beneficiaries who elect COBRA. The URL for this portal will be included in the COBRA election notice that is sent by UMR to qualified beneficiaries. In the portal the qualified beneficiary can:
- Select a payment method, including ACH or credit card
- Schedule and make payments
- View letters, documents and forms
Please note that election notices will include a new P.O. box for qualified beneficiaries to use for initial payments, reinstatements, and general correspondence:
