Corrected 2016 Summary Annual Reports Now Online

While researching information in the 2016 Summary Annual Reports (SARs) for the NRECA-sponsored 401(k) Pension Plan and the NRECA Group Benefits Program, we found one incorrect figure in each previously published SAR. Corrected versions of both the 401(k) Plan SAR and the Group Benefits Program SAR have been posted to the Employee Benefits website.

If you have already distributed the incorrect SARs, please take the following action by the distribution deadline of December 15, 2017:

  • Instruct employees to discard the previous versions,
  • Download the corrected versions and distribute them to plan participants. Use the optional cover memo to accompany the corrected SAR disclosures, if desired.
  • Note that the incorrect figure in the original Group Benefits Program SAR has been deemed immaterial; however, we have provided a corrected version for distribution to participants if desired. The incorrect amount in the 401(k) Plan SAR is material and co-ops should distribute the corrected version.

If you have not yet distributed the notices, download the corrected Group and 401(k) versions as applicable to your cooperative and furnish copies by December 15, 2017 to:

  • For the Group Benefits Program, active and disabled employees, retirees, employees on a leave of absence, retained attorneys, directors, COBRA beneficiaries, and children covered under Qualified Medical Child Support Orders who participate in the plan.
  • For the 401(k) Plan, active and disabled employees (including those on a leave of absence) who are participating in or who have a benefit in the plan. NRECA mails a copy directly to retirees, alternate payees, beneficiaries of deceased participants, separated participants with benefits, and terminated-vested participants. These individuals will receive the correct version of the SAR directly.

Acknowledge distribution by December 31, 2017
Please acknowledge distributing both the Group Benefits Program and 401(k) Plan SARs using the distribution instructions and acknowledgement form on the Employee Benefits website. The Distributing Plan Documents page of the BA Guide has information about non-paper distribution rules, for co-ops that prefer to use an electronic distribution method. If you have already acknowledged distributing the incorrect SARs, please complete and send a new acknowledgement form once you distribute the corrected versions.
