UHC Expands In-network Insulin Pump Coverage

UnitedHealthcare will now cover all brands of insulin pumps at the in-network benefit level for eligible participants of all ages. Previously certain pumps weren’t covered at the in-network benefit level for participants age 18 and older. Participants must meet medical necessity requirements for an insulin pump, and preauthorization is required.

Participants should contact the SHARE Program at 800.526.7322, Monday through Friday from 7 am to 6 pm, Central time, to obtain preauthorization.
