COVID-related Extensions for NRECA Benefit Programs

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact communities across the United States, NRECA is committed to providing the resources and flexibility in support of our cooperative family during this time. NRECA is extending the timelines for certain relief measures offered through the Group Benefits Program. NRECA will continue to monitor the pandemic’s progress as well as any legislative efforts for impacts to NRECA benefit programs. Should additional legislative relief occur or benefit plan modifications be warranted, we will notify you of those updates.

COVID-19 testing cost share waiver
The NRECA Medical Plan will continue to cover COVID-19 evaluation and testing along with the associated provider visit with no cost share to participants. Subsequent care related to a coronavirus diagnosis (and treatment) is subject to deductible and/or coinsurance amounts. The evaluation and testing cost share waivers will continue through October 25, 2020.

Teladoc fee waiver and antibody testing
Participants in a high-deductible health plan may request consultations through Teladoc® without incurring consultation fees. The consultation does not have to be related to a potential COVID-19 diagnosis to qualify for the cost-share waiver. As of July 17, 2020, NRECA Medical Plan participants may also request a COVID-19 antibody test through Teladoc. If clinically appropriate, the physician will order it through a Quest Diagnostics or LabCorp location; both are part of the UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus PPO network. The participant will pay no out-of-pocket cost for the Teladoc consult or the antibody test. The cost-sharing waivers will remain in effect through October 25, 2020.

Prescription refill restriction waiver
Participants with maintenance medications will continue to benefit from waivers on 30- and 90-day prescription refills on most medications* at all in-network pharmacies. Up to a 90-day supply of maintenance medications is encouraged for refills. The refill waivers will continue through October 25, 2020. CVS is also providing free home delivery from CVS retail pharmacies for all prescriptions though August 31, 2020.
