The 2017 Benefits Compliance Calendar is Now Available

The 2017 Benefits Compliance Calendar is now available on the Employee Benefits website.

The calendar files contain annual compliance-related tasks and reminders for NRECA’s benefit plans, making it easy to stay on top of critical deadlines. Once imported, a reminder for each approaching deadline and a second reminder on the task due date are loaded to your Outlook calendar. The deadlines appear as “all day events” listed at the top of the day’s task list. You can choose from three files: Group Benefits Plan, Retirement Security Plan (RS Plan), 401(k) Pension Plan (401(k) Plan), or all plans. Get just the reminders you need by importing only one file, depending on the plans your co-op offers.

The 2017 calendar contains the usual recurring annual reminders, plus several tasks that support the 2017 RS and 401(k) Plan restatements. The retirement plans are restated every five years; the next restatement effective date is July 1, 2017.

How to Download
Follow the link in the Message Center alert, or go to My Benefits and choose Benefits Compliance Calendar under the BA Tools & Resources heading at the bottom of the page. The calendar page contains links to all three reminder files and online import instructions. On the page, you’ll find step-by-step instructions for importing the file.

The calendar files are in comma separated value (.csv) format, which is compatible with all versions of Microsoft Outlook, including older versions.

Even if you do not have Outlook, you can still import the reminders into whatever calendaring program you use. The steps may vary slightly from those listed in the instructions. Ask your IT department for help downloading the file into your application.
