2016 Compliance Questionnaire and Resource Guide Now Available

The 2016 retirement compliance questionnaire is now available to download from the Employee Benefits website. The questionnaire asks for data about your cooperative and is due no later than February 15, 2017. W-2 salary data accompanies your questionnaire and is also due on February 15. A Message Center alert containing the 2016 questionnaire and accompanying resource guide was sent to all primary benefits administrators on December 12.

Here are some 2016 compliance reporting highlights:

  • The resource guide has a timeline, frequently asked questions, preparation checklist, and detailed instructions for W-2 data reporting. NRECA’s systems will be ready to receive W-2 data on January 3, 2017.
  • The questionnaire has been streamlined and updated for 2016 reporting. Content changes are minimal; however, Appendix B has been expanded to provide additional reporting space for larger co-ops with more employee data.
  • The 2016 questionnaire remains in PDF format. BAs can either fill it out electronically or print a copy and complete it by hand. Adobe Reader is required.
  • If you plan to print the questionnaire and fill in the fields manually, first type your co-op’s name and RUS number on Page 2. Your entries will appear at the bottom of the remaining pages, so you won’t need to write the information on every page.
