Send 2017 Compliance Reporting Data by February 15

NRECA’s systems are ready to receive your cooperative’s compliance questionnaire and W-2 salary data for 2017. Both items are due by February 15, so that benefits compliance can perform your cooperative’s retirement plan nondiscrimination testing in time to avoid possible IRS excise taxes.

Resources for co-ops
All the resources you need are located on the W-2 Salary Data & Retirement Compliance Questionnaire page of the Employee Benefits website.

  • Send your questionnaire and supporting appendices securely using the Message Center. Retain a full copy in your files in case the benefits compliance team needs to clarify any of your entries during testing.
  • Upload your W-2 data via the Employee Benefits website. Use the file format on the W-2 Salary Data & Retirement Compliance Questionnaire page. Uploading a data file is the easiest option for co-ops with multiple subgroups or a large number of participants. You can also enter each record manually; however, we recommend uploading a file to avoid data entry corrections.
  • The Compliance Annual Reporting Resource Guide answers many of your questions about year-end reporting.
  • The 2017 Compliance Annual Reporting Webinar was held on December 13. Listen to the recording, download the presentation slides, and review the frequently asked questions for even more information about 2017 reporting.

If you need help finding these resources, contact the Member Contact Center at 866.673.2299 or contactcenter@nreca.coop.

For help with W-2 salary data or the questionnaire, contact the benefits compliance team at 866.673.2299, option 7, or pension.compliance@nreca.coop.
