Send 2017 Compliance Reporting Data by February 15

The deadline to send your cooperative’s compliance questionnaire and W-2 salary data is just one week away. Both items are due by February 15 so that the benefits compliance team can perform nondiscrimination testing for your co-op’s NRECA-sponsored retirement plans in time to avoid possible tax penalties.

Here are the resources you’ll need to meet this deadline:

  • The W-2 Salary Data & Retirement Compliance Questionnaire page of the Employee Benefits website contains an overview of the process and links to everything you’ll need.
  • The questionnaire provides co-op and employee data that is needed for testing.
  • The Message Center is where you’ll securely transmit your questionnaire and supporting appendices (as applicable) to the benefits compliance team. Keep a full copy of the questionnaire for your files in case the benefits compliance team needs to clarify any of your entries as we process your data.
  • The detailed Compliance Annual Reporting Resource Guide answers many of your questions about year-end reporting.
  • Use this file format for your W-2 salary data. The W-2 Salary Submissions page of the Employee Benefits website is where you will upload that data to NRECA’s systems. You can also enter your data manually, if you prefer.
  • The 2017 Compliance Annual Reporting Webinar was held on December 13. Listen to the recording, download the presentation slides, and review the frequently asked questions for even more information about 2017 reporting.
