Quest Diagnostics to Join UHC Choice Plus Network

Effective January 1, 2019, Quest Diagnostics will join UnitedHealthcare’s Choice Plus network as an in-network lab services provider. The addition of Quest Diagnostics, along with LabCorp and the regional and local lab services providers already in the network, will help ensure NRECA Medical Plan participants have in-network access to the most extensive national provider network for lab and imaging services.

The benefits of using in-network labs and imaging centers include:

• Copays and coinsurance may be lower
• Medical plan participants will only be billed for their applicable copays and coinsurance. An out-of-network provider may also bill participants for the difference between their out-of-network benefit and the amount of the charges for lab or imaging services
• Participants have access to health management programs, which help them and their doctors manage their specific health care needs

Participants can find in-network lab and imaging service providers using the Find a Doctor tool on the Employee Benefits website. (Quest Diagnostics locations will begin appearing in the online network directory on January 1, 2019.)

As a reminder, participants should always speak with their providers to ensure they are getting the benefit of an in-network lab or imaging center.
