Q&As from Latest Webinar on Affordable Care Act Tax Reporting are Online

During last month’s webinar on the Affordable Care Act (ACA), we answered many questions about the ACA tax reporting requirements and cooperatives’ responsibilities, and we received many more. Speakers Seth Perretta and Malcolm Slee of the Groom Law Group and NRECA staff have developed a Q&A document answering questions we didn’t address during the webinar, which is now online.

ACA tax reporting deadlines
As a reminder the deadlines for providing returns and filing your ACA tax reporting documents for tax year 2015 are as follows:

  • Returns: Provide Forms 1095-B or 1095-C to responsible individuals (person through whom the coverage is provided) by March 31, 2016
  • Paper filings: File Forms 1095-B or 1095-C, using transmittal Forms 1094-B or 1094-C, with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) by May 31, 2016
  • Electronic filings: File Forms 1095-B or 1095-C, using transmittal Forms 1094-B or 1094-C, with the IRS by June 30, 2016
