Have You Acknowledged Distributing Your 2016 SPDs?
March 1 was the deadline to distribute summary plan descriptions (SPDs) for your NRECA group benefit plans. If you haven’t already done so, please give these important notices to your employees right away.
After you distribute the notices, help us keep your benefit plans in compliance by filling out the Group Plan SPD and SMM Distribution and Acknowledgement located on the Employee Benefits website. You can acknowledge all your plans at the same time on one form.

- A checklist to help you distribute your SPDs and complete the acknowledgement form
- A list of the SPD sections that have changed for 2016
- Rules for how to distribute your SPDs electronically
Acknowledgement tips
- If you didn’t distribute SPDs for one of your plans because it has no participants, fill in zero (0) on the form for the number of participants.
- Don’t forget the Number of Participants Who Are Not Literate in English section of the acknowledgement. This number is different from the Number of Participants Enrolled, which refers to all participants enrolled in the plan regardless of English literacy.
