PIRC Offering Fully Redesigned Retirement Planning Seminar

“Am I prepared financially to retire?” “Can I retire when I want to?” “How do I figure out where my money comes from in retirement?” These and many other questions are undoubtedly running through the minds of your co-op’s employees, especially those who are nearing retirement.

NRECA’s Personal Investment & Retirement Consulting (PIRC) team offers a suite of onsite educational seminars – the cornerstone of which is the Retirement Planning Seminar. This educational offering is targeted to employees who are within ten years of their normal retirement date and has been fully redesigned to better meet the unique needs of these individuals.

Key components of your co-op’s retirement benefit and group insurance programs are provided by your NRECA field representative while the PIRC planner provides common decision points, resources and considerations as employees begin to think about converting retirement savings to retirement income.

Attendees will benefit from further explanation of technical concepts by the use of real-world scenarios showcasing the potential results of certain retirement planning decision points. Each audience member will also receive a workbook containing key messages from the seminar along with areas for the attendee to fill in personal or co-op-specific information about their benefits and personal assets available for retirement. The workbook also contains information on NRECA resources (e.g., the benefits website) as well as external resources to be consulted. Additionally, a local estate planning attorney will be invited to provide an overview on needs, tools, and documents for estate planning.

Co-ops with a Retirement Planning Seminar already scheduled for 2018 will receive additional information about the new seminar from a member of the PIRC team.
