New Communicators Toolkit Available

NRECA recently released an internal communications toolkit, designed to provide an overview of the many tools and resources available to your cooperative to aid in communicating to your employees. The toolkit walks you through the  process of developing a plan, telling your story, gaining feedback and ensuring that you are using communication techniques that will ultimately resonate with your audiences. The toolkit also provides comprehensive examples of successful communications campaigns conducted by other organizations within the co-op family.

Ultimately, strong internal communications ensure your employees are well-informed about critical information – from HR and benefits to what’s going on in the broader industry. High-performing organizations take a broad view of internal communication, applying many of the same strategies and tactics they use externally through public relations and marketing efforts to build a strong internal culture of excellence and engagement.

To access the toolkit, simply go to Cooperative.com > Interest Areas > Communications and select “internal communications toolkit” on the left-hand navigation. This communications interest area offers a host of resources that may be of interest to you or other staff at your co-op.

We hope you find this toolkit of use as you develop or refine your co-op’s internal communication efforts. For questions about the toolkit or any of the tools and resources referenced, please contact Holly Wetzel, director of marketing and member communications, Abby Berry, consumer content manager or Justin LaBerge, leadership communication manager. For any issues accessing the toolkit, please contact NRECA’s Member Contact Center at 866.673.2299 or contactcenter@nreca.coop.
