Improved Disability Reporting and Education

If your cooperative offers long- or short-term disability through NRECA, you now have access to a more thorough weekly report detailing individuals on disability, payments and more. The enhancements to this report and overall reporting process are based on member feedback, providing us with the opportunity to improve your experience.

Each week, benefits administrators with employees on short- and long-term disability will receive a link to a report via Message Center on the NRECA Employee Benefits website. The message will link to a new page on the website where these reports will be hosted, allowing you to view, filter and sort reports over the last 18 months based on each plan.

The disability section within BA Guide has been updated to provide more detailed information on disability tax withholding as well as the administrative process and claim filing for each plan. Additionally, you can easily access resources such as claim forms, IRS forms and guides for participants.

Participants may also access role-based educational pages to understand more about their long- and short-term disability plans offered by NRECA through your co-op. These pages are designed to fully explain the process and responsibilities of the participant and the co-op. Please see the article New Role-based Disability Pages Help Participants Better Understand Their Plans in this week’s issue of NRECA Employee Benefits Weekly for a complete description of these pages.
