IMPORTANT OUTREACH: Retiree Insurance Solutions Non-responder Campaign Begins Next Week
It’s important that post-65 retirees, their spouses, surviving spouses and Medicare-disabled participants who are transitioning from NRECA group coverage on December 31, 2014 take action to enroll in replacement coverage through OneExchange by then. No one will automatically be enrolled in coverage. If these individuals wait to enroll on January 1, 2015 or later, they will experience a gap in insurance coverage. If they delay enrollment too long after January 1, affected individuals will lose their opportunity for guaranteed issue coverage, which will make their acceptance for coverage contingent on their health condition or increase the cost of the coverage they obtain.
Beginning November 3, NRECA will work with OneExchange and cooperatives to ensure that individuals who haven’t enrolled or responded yet are contacted so that no affected participant is left behind. This outreach will include:
- A postcard mailed by OneExchange on November 3*
- Outbound calls from OneExchange to begin shortly thereafter
- A list of eligible retirees who haven’t responded to any of the OneExchange outreach attempts will be emailed to co-ops participating in Retiree Insurance Solutions from NRECA on December 1 so those co-ops can reach out to these individuals to remind them of this opportunity as they like
Note: Due to a gap in timing between when a contact list is developed and contact is made, some individuals who have already enrolled in coverage or have an enrollment call scheduled with OneExchange may receive a non-responder contact. They can ignore this contact—this is simply caused by a gap in timing, and nothing is wrong with their coverage.
If you have questions about the non-responder outreach campaign or other aspects of the Retiree Insurance Solutions program, email them to retireeinsurancesolutions@nreca.org. You also may contact the Member Contact Center at 866.673.2299 or contactcenter@nreca.coop.
*The postcard will only be mailed to individuals transitioning medical and prescription drug coverage.
