Divorce Event Updated on NRECA’s Employee Benefits Website
With the latest enhancement to the NRECA Employee Benefits website, it’s now easier than ever for you to process employee divorces.
You will find many familiar features in this improved event, including the ability to save your work in progress for up to 10 days, a Message Center notification before event processing automatically completes, and a reduced number of screens to work through. There is also a new Divorce page in the BA Guide with information and resources you may find helpful in processing a divorce, including information about qualified domestic relations orders and educational content for your participants experiencing a divorce.
As part of processing a divorce, you will need to remember to obtain updated and physically signed beneficiary documentation from affected employees and to update an ex-spouse’s address if that has changed.
