Cardinal Health Joins the Exclusive Choice Network
You’ll benefit by having increased pharmacy access while enjoying the same discounts you currently receive with the other chains participating in the network.
Cardinal Health is the fifth largest pharmacy organization in the country.
On January 1, 2014, NRECA introduced the Exclusive Choice network as part of the prescription drug benefit administered by CVS Caremark. If your co-op participates in a traditional medical plan, such as a PPO plan, you pay $0 for covered generic drugs when you get them filled at CVS pharmacies, Walmart, Sam’s Club or through CVS mail order.
If your co-op participates in a high-deductible health plan, covered generic prescription drugs are reimbursed at 100% once the deductible has been met; however, if your plan has the preventive prescription drug option, generic preventive drugs on the preventive drug list aren’t subject to the deductible and are reimbursed with $0 copay. In addition to mail service, you can fill a 90-day supply at CVS pharmacy, Walmart or Sam’s Club locations.
On July 1, 2014, Cardinal Health pharmacies joined the CVS Caremark Exclusive Choice network. Cardinal Health is the fifth largest pharmacy organization in the country, adding approximately 3,880 locally-owned pharmacies to the network. You will benefit by having increased pharmacy access while enjoying the same discounts you currently receive with the other participating chains (CVS, Sam’s Club and Walmart).
Individuals having filled a prescription at a Cardinal Health pharmacy in the past three months will receive a letter from CVS Caremark. This letter will notify the recipient of the new $0 generic copays and 90 days’ supply benefit at Cardinal Health pharmacies.
