401(k) Pension Plan Safe Harbor Notice Being Sent to Co-ops
If your cooperative sponsors the NRECA 401(k) Pension Plan with the Safe Harbor provision, you will receive an email in early October from the benefits compliance team with your 2015 Safe Harbor Notice. Distribute the notice to your eligible employees after October 1 but no later than November 28, 2014.
The email will contain detailed information and instructions about how to distribute the notice.
For Non-Safe Harbor Co-ops
Co-ops considering the Safe Harbor provision should contact their field representative to discuss the process and the implementation timeline. This is especially important if you are considering the provision for the 2015 plan year.
If you decide to pursue the provision, NRECA’s benefits compliance team will help you analyze the impact to your plan and execute the required documents by the proper deadlines.
