Winner Announced for Co-op Wellness Stories
We asked, and you responded.
Thank you to all cooperatives that recently submitted their wellness stories, photos and videos. Co-ops across the country are doing great things to make wellness a part of their culture and encourage their employees to live a healthy lifestyle.
Our randomly selected winner among the submissions is Cheri Schuette, benefits administrator at Crawford Electric Cooperative in Bourbon, Missouri. Cheri won 25 Fitbit Zip activity tracker devices for her co-op.
Crawford Electric Cooperative offers lots of healthy opportunities for its employees through its “Commit to Get Fit” program.
Highlights of Crawford’s wellness program include:
- Health fair that entails working with the local hospital to offer blood draws, blood pressure checks and information booths, and displaying NRECA’s move SMART® videos
- Financial incentives for attending wellness-related events, undergoing preventive health exams and participating in fitness programs
- Hosting healthy lunch and learns, and physician talks on various health topics
Schuette says: “There are many stories of how our wellness program has helped our employees. We are very proud of our program and how it has developed over the years and look forward to continuing the health education of our employees.”
