UnitedHealthcare and Tenet Healthcare Corporation Renew Contract

In the July 9 issue of I&FS Weekly, we reported that UnitedHealthcare (UHC) and Tenet Healthcare Corporation were in contract negotiations. As of yesterday, UHC and Tenet signed a new three-year agreement effective August 1, 2014. (The current contract expires on July 31, 2014).

The new agreement provides NRECA Medical Plan participants uninterrupted network access to Tenet’s 79 hospitals, 193 outpatient centers and more than 1,800 physician practices (including Vanguard facilities) in Alabama, California, Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Missouri, Arizona, Michigan, Illinois and Massachusetts.
