Sample Email on Benefit Projection Requests Available

In response to cooperative requests, NRECA has drafted an email template for benefits advisors to use when advising retirement-eligible employees about the new timeline for requesting end-of-year benefit projections from the Retirement Security (RS) Plan.

To meet the needs of all co-op employees eligible for retirement in 2015, NRECA is asking that requests for benefit calculations be submitted on or before November 1, 2015. While most calculations can be done quickly through NRECA’s online portal, other calculations require additional time because of their more complex nature. By submitting requests on or before November 1, employees will be able to receive the information they need to make an informed decision before the end of 2015.

The sample email, which is posted on the NRECA Employee Benefits website, also includes a reminder about the availability of an informational flier, Answers You Need: Weighing Your RS Plan Payment Options, and of customized guidance and education about retirement options through NRECA’s Personal Investment & Retirement Consulting (PIRC) team.
