Return Restatement Documents by October 31

Your cooperative’s signed adoption agreements and one board resolution adopting the restated Retirement Security (RS) Plan and 401(k) Pension Plan are due to NRECA by October 31.

If you haven’t already done so, please return these restatement documents before the deadline. Doing so not only keeps the plans in compliance, but also ensures that future plan changes can be processed promptly. Plan changes for effective dates after July 1 can be approved only after your co-op’s restatement process is complete. If restatement documents are not received, the effective date of the requested change may need to be extended.

In early July, co-ops received a Message Center notification linking to their restated adoption agreements, which are available for download on the Retirement Plan Documents page of the Employee Benefits website. Instructions and FAQs needed to complete the restatements (including a sample board resolution) are available on the Retirement Plan Restatements page.

Once your documents are received in good order, they will be countersigned and scanned. Benefits administrators will receive a Message Center notification when the final agreements are available online.

If you have questions about the restatements, contact the retirement compliance team at 866.673.2299, option 7, or pension.compliance@nreca.coop.
