Reminder: Participants Should Have Received Their New Health ID Cards for 2022
As announced previously, UMR mailed redesigned health ID cards in late December* for 2022. Participants in all NRECA medical, dental and vision plans should have received their new health ID cards with augmented member service contact and cost-sharing information as required by the 2021 Consolidated Appropriations Act.
If participants did not receive their health ID cards or corrections are needed, they should contact NRECA at 866.673.2299, Monday through Friday, 7 am to 7 pm, Central time.
If they need a health ID card, participants can download a temporary health ID card on the Employee Benefits website by logging in to cooperative.com and going to My Benefits > My Insurance > Download a Temporary Health ID Card.
To request additional health ID cards, they can go to My Benefits > My Insurance > Request a Health ID Card.
Remember, as of January 1, 2022, participants should:
- Dispose of their old health ID cards
- Use their new health ID cards
- Show their health ID card whenever they or a covered dependent visit a health care provider—this is always a best practice
*If your cooperative made late renewal (after November 16, 2021) or enrollment (after November 29, 2021) changes, your participants may receive their new health ID cards after January 1, 2022.
