Optional Co-op Announcement Letter for Retiree Insurance Solutions Available to Send On or After July 22
Some cooperatives told us they felt a letter about the Retiree Insurance Solutions transition sent from them to their affected participants before the NRECA announcement letter is sent on August 14 would be appropriate. A template letter co-ops can customize and send on their letterhead is now available online. Sending it is optional and strictly up to the co-op. If you decide to use the letter, we encourage you to send it on or after July 22.
Incorporate the variable text as applicable
Be sure to read the template carefully and complete the variable text to fit your co-op’s situation before sending the letter. For example, there’s variable text for each post-65 health benefit a co-op offers. There’s also a section to convey how a co-op will provide a premium subsidy for these benefits. Include the language appropriate to your co-op’s process, or remove the section as directed if your co-op doesn’t provide a premium subsidy.
Find it on the Retiree Insurance Solutions page
The template is available under the Retiree Meeting Toolkit section on the Retiree Insurance Solutions page of the Employee Benefits website. Don’t forget to use the other resources on the page to help you and your employees understand the Retiree Insurance Solutions program.
