NRECA Email Encryption Process Change

Earlier this week, NRECA announced a change to how our staff and contractors send encrypted messages to our cooperative members and business partners.

Starting April 10, 2021, our current encryption tools will be replaced by Microsoft® Office 365.

Currently, when NRECA’s co-op members and business partners receive an encrypted message from NRECA staff or contractors, they must log in to a portal to download the message.

As of April 10, your experience will be as follows:

  • If your organization is on Office 365: You will no longer need to log in to the portal to download the encrypted message. You will receive the message as an email in your inbox and will be able to download the message directly from the email.
  • If your organization is NOT on Office 365: You will need to log in to the Office 365 portal to download the encrypted message.

All new encrypted messages from NRECA staff and contractors sent on or after April 10 will only be accessible via Office 365. The existing portal will be available until June 17, 2021. If you have messages you need to download from that platform, please do so before June 17.

As a reminder, for organizations offering NRECA employee benefits or if you are a benefits administrator, information can be sent securely through the Message Center feature on the NRECA Employee Benefits website.

If you have any questions, contact NRECA’s Member Contact Center at 866.673.2299. Representatives are available Monday through Friday, 7 am to 7 pm, Central time.
