COBRA Webinar, Resources and Reminders
On Thursday, December 4, 2014, from 2–3:30 pm ET, NRECA will host a webinar entitled “COBRA Administration: An Overview of the Basics.” The COBRA experts at UMR will review the essentials of COBRA administration; this webinar is not about UMR’s COBRA administration services. This webinar is open to all benefits administrators.
NRECA’s COBRA team will answer questions about COBRA basics after the presentation. If you elected COBRA administration by UMR, contact UMR with cooperative-specific questions (details below). If you self-administer or use a third-party administrator, contact the Member Contact Center (MCC) with cooperative-specific questions (details below).
The frequently asked questions and answers resources for COBRA, covering both the basics and UMR administration, have been updated and will be posted on the Employee Benefits website in the COBRA Coverage section under Employee Events on Friday, November 21. The questions and answers new to these versions are marked with an asterisk (*).
Reminder on Upcoming Communications
The benefits administrator on record for co-ops that elected COBRA administration by UMR will receive the NRECA/UMR welcome packet by email on November 21. Check your junk and spam folders if you don’t find it your inbox.
In early December, qualified beneficiaries will receive a letter from NRECA that outlines the package of information they will receive from UMR containing contact information, payment coupons and instructions on where to remit premiums.
