NRECA Celebrates National Save for Retirement Week

National Save for Retirement Week is a great way to remind employees of the importance of investing in their retirement. There are several ways you can get in on the action.

On October 22 from 2-3 pm ET, NRECA’s Personal Investment & Retirement Consulting (PIRC) team will be hosting an educational webinar for participants in NRECA’s retirement plans. The webinar, led by PIRC team member Lori Slaboda, will provide an overview of retirement trends, discuss the key steps necessary for preparing for a secure retirement, and remind attendees of the variety of resources available from NRECA and PIRC to plan for retirement with confidence. The webinar will be archived afterwards on the Employee Benefits website.

Also available on the website are a suite of retirement awareness materials that cooperatives can use during National Save for Retirement Week (or at any other time). These include:

  • A poster on the value of investing in a 401(k) account designed for co-ops that offer a 401(k) match;
  • A poster on the value of investing in a 401(k) account for co-ops that don’t offer a match;
  • A poster on the value of the Retirement Security Plan;
  • A poster that co-ops can use to advertise the webinar or any other retirement preparedness activities they have planned.

In addition, a collection of articles offering tips on retirement readiness that co-ops can use as content for email blasts, intranet sites, or newsletters is available on the website for use at any time.
