Flu Vaccines to be Covered Under the NRECA Prescription Drug Benefit Beginning January 1
NRECA is pleased to announce that beginning January 1, 2015, flu vaccines will be 100% covered through the NRECA prescription drug benefit with CVS/Caremark. This change will help cooperative employees avoid the flu by having greater access to vaccines through both their medical and prescription benefits.
In addition to having access through the CVS/Caremark national network at locations offering onsite flu shots, flu vaccine coverage is now available through the Exclusive Choice Network. Pharmacies in the Exclusive Choice Network include Walmart, Sam’s Club, Leader Drugs, Medicine Shoppe, Brookeshire Drugs and Bi-Lo Pharmacy.
A few important tips for eligible co-op employees and their covered dependents:
- Bring their health ID card along with a valid photo ID and be sure to indicate that coverage is through the prescription drug plan.
- Be sure to call ahead for availability and to make an appointment (if necessary).
- The flu vaccine is covered 100% by the prescription drug plan, a copay won’t be due.
Remember, eligible individuals can also receive flu shots at their doctor’s office through their medical benefit.
