2021 Annual Renewal and Annual Enrollment Dates

During annual renewal, cooperatives choose the NRECA group insurance benefits they will offer their employees for the upcoming plan year. Based on these elections, employees choose their group insurance benefits during annual enrollment for the upcoming year. The 2021 renewal and enrollment dates are:

Annual renewal: August 12–September 25, 2020

  • Benefit Plan Rating and Renewal feature blackout period: June 8–August 12, 2020
    (The feature is closed to prepare for annual renewal. If you need to model group benefit plans during this period, contact your field representative.)

Annual enrollment: October 19–November 19, 2020

  • BA preview period: October 19–21, 2020
  • Wave 1 (blue): October 22–November 6, 2020
  • Wave 2 (yellow): November 2–17, 2020
  • BA approval period: November 18–19, 2020
