2016 Summary Plan Descriptions
Between December 19 and January 1, watch your Message Center for an alert linking to your cooperative’s 2016 summary plan descriptions (SPDs). Follow the link in the alert or access your SPDs directly at My Benefits > Co-op Insurance > Group Plan SPDs and SMMs.
Distribute SPDs
SPDs will be issued for all plans under the NRECA Group Program for 2016. When you receive the Message Center alert, download your SPDs and review them to confirm the elections your co-op made through the Benefit Plan Rating system (e.g., deductible amounts and coinsurance). Next, distribute the notices to all participants and beneficiaries by March 1, 2016. During 2016, give them to new hires within 90 days of their hire date.
Acknowledge Distribution
After you distribute the SPDs, complete the online distribution and acknowledgment form found on the Employee Benefits website. Go to My Benefits > Co-op Insurance > Group Plan SPD and SMM Distribution. Select your subgroup, if applicable.
