The 2015 Benefits Compliance Calendar is Now Available

A Message Center alert was sent to all benefits administrators Tuesday, December 16 with a link to the 2015 Benefits Compliance Calendar. The calendar contains task reminders and compliance deadlines for the NRECA benefit plans that you can import into your Microsoft Outlook calendar.

New for 2015
The 2015 version of the calendar has changed in three ways:

1. There are no Medicare Part D reminders. This is because the NRECA post-65 retiree medical and prescription drug plans will end on December 31, 2014.
2. There are three calendar files (Group Plans, Retirement Plans, and both) for 2015 instead of one combined file. Depending on which plans your co-op offers, you only need to import one file. In prior years, you chose which reminders to load to Outlook during the import process. This year, you’ll choose which set of deadlines to import up front.
3. The 2015 calendars are in comma separated value (.csv) format instead of Microsoft Excel format. This change eliminates an import step for Outlook 2013 users, since newer versions of Microsoft Outlook cannot import calendar events from an Excel file. csv files are also compatible with older versions Microsoft Outlook, so these users will not need to take extra import steps.

How to Download
To download the calendar, log on to Cooperative.com and go to My Benefits > Administration > BA Assistant > Your Tasks and Responsibilities > Compliance Calendar. Look for links to the calendar files and download instructions. Review the instructions, choose your calendar file, and import your reminders.

If you don’t use Outlook as your calendar application, you can still use the compliance calendar. Check with your IT department for help adapting the instructions for use in downloading the file to an email application other than Outlook.
