Teladoc Update
Access to Teladoc launched January 1, 2018. Since then, over 7,000 participants have registered for Teladoc services and nearly 2,000 Teladoc consults have occurred. Call back time is averaging only 17 minutes.
Teladoc is already proving a useful resource for non-emergency medical needs and helping your employees and their dependents address common, acute illnesses, such as sinusitis, flu, ear and upper respiratory infections. Teladoc cannot be used for chronic or non-medical conditions not covered under the NRECA Medical Plan.
Participants seeking non-emergency dental treatment should contact their dental care provider rather than Teladoc. If dental treatment is provided by Teladoc, claims will be submitted to the participant’s dental insurance provider for payment, even if dental insurance is provided by a carrier other than NRECA. When seeking behavioral health or counseling services, those claims will be submitted to the NRECA Medical Plan and participants should follow up with their behavioral health provider if they already have one or contact Life Strategy Counseling, provided by KEPRO, at 888.225.4289.
