Teladoc Health Fee Waiver Expired – NRECA Employee Benefits Weekly

As a reminder to cooperatives in the NRECA Medical Plan, the cost share waiver of Teladoc Health^® consultation fees for high-deductible health plans (HDHPs) expired December 31, 2024.

This temporary waiver was a result of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 that allowed HDHPs compatible with a health savings account to cover the costs of telehealth sessions through the end of last year.

On January 1, NRECA reinstated the $55 fee for Teladoc medical consultations for participants in HDHPs, and the following fees apply for mental health consultations:

$230 for an initial consultation with a Teladoc psychiatrist
$105 for each follow-up consultation with a Teladoc psychiatrist
$95 for each consultation with a Teladoc mental health provider other than a psychiatrist

These fees are covered after participants meet their deductible.

For participants in non-HDHPs, there are no fees for Teladoc medical or mental health consultations.
