Send Compliance Reporting Data by February 14
2019 compliance annual reporting and nondiscrimination testing is now underway. Send your cooperative’s questionnaire and W-2 salary data by February 14, so that the benefits compliance team can perform your co-op’s retirement plan nondiscrimination testing in time to avoid possible IRS excise taxes.
Resources to help prepare your data are located on the W-2 Salary Data & Retirement Compliance Questionnaire page of the Employee Benefits website.
- Use the Message Center to securely send your questionnaire. Retain a full copy in your files in case NRECA needs to clarify any aspect of your data.
- Import your W-2 salary data using the enhanced W-2 salary submission event on the Employee Benefits website. Use the file layout to format your data. Importing a data file is the easiest option for co-ops with multiple subgroups or a large number of participants. Note that the W-2 salary submission event has been enhanced and now allows you to import data for multiple subgroups at one time and to correct data without re-importing your entire file. Learn more by listening to the recorded webinar and reading the summary of questions and answers from the Compliance Annual Reporting webinar held on December 11, 2019.
- The Compliance Annual Reporting Resource Guide has detailed answers to your questions about year-end reporting.
