Rewards for Life Participants Won With the Rewards for Steps Challenge

Congratulations to all who completed the Rewards for Life® program’s Rewards for Steps Challenge. The POWER Wellness team is proud of everyone who took the time and put forth the effort to participate.

The 1,145 participants were challenged to walk at least 200,000 steps over the course of the challenge,   810 of whom achieved that goal—and received points in the Rewards for Life program. Very impressive!

In total, Rewards for Steps Challenge participants achieved several milestones, including:

  • 263,391,543 steps taken by all participants combined, which is nearly 131,196 miles—far enough to walk Earth’s circumference five times
  • 29 people walked half a million steps or more each

Additionally, three lucky challenge participants were selected at random to receive their choice of Fitbit. The Fitbit winners were:

  1. Kenneth Johnson of Valley Electric
  2. Erin Smith of Wells REC
  3. Stephanie Leathers of GreyStone Power

Our next challenge, Operation H2O, challenges participants to improve their health by drinking recommended amounts of water. Rewards for Life program participants will receive an email in early May with more information.

The Rewards for Life program is an incentivized work site wellness program available at no additional cost to all cooperatives that participate in the NRECA Medical Plan. To learn more, email wellnessprogram@nreca.coop.
