Rewards for Life Participants Hit Their Stride

The NRECA Well-being team congratulates everyone who completed Hit Your Stride, the Rewards for Life® program’s second challenge of the year. The NRECA Well-being team is proud of everyone who took the time and put forth the effort to participate, especially all the benefits administrators and well-being coordinators who managed to keep people engaged and motivated despite the ongoing pandemic.

Of Rewards for Life participants, 1,425 took up the challenge to walk at least 300,000 steps over the course of the challenge, and 1,103 achieved that goal—and received points in the Rewards for Life program. Very impressive!

In total, Hit Your Stride participants achieved several milestones, including:

  • 541,917,732 steps taken by all participants combined—that’s 270,960 miles, which is 32,000 miles more than a trip to the moon!
  • 296 people walked 500,000 steps or more each

Additionally, three lucky challenge participants were selected at random to receive a new Fitbit. The winners were:

  1. Jayne Eden, Southwest Arkansas Electric Cooperative
  2. Robert Eglinsdoerfer, Arizona Electric Power Cooperative
  3. Cheryl Slater, Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative

We hope you and your co-op’s employees will be up for our next challenge opportunity, Five to Thrive, which encourages challenge participants to help improve overall health by eating five daily servings of fruits and vegetables. If your co-op is enrolled in the Rewards for Life program, you’ll receive an email in the coming week with more information.
