Rewards for Life and the Invitational Team Steps Challenge

This summer your employees can step right into the Rewards for Life® program’s newest wellness (or steps) challenge—but only if your cooperative is enrolled in the Rewards for Life program.

The Rewards for Life program is an online incentive-tracking program available through MyHealth Manager, our interactive health website powered by WebMD. Participants enter their health information, participate in wellness challenges and more as they earn rewards from your co-op for achieving their healthy lifestyle goals. In the last few months of each year, the POWER Wellness team distributes the materials benefits administrators will need for the following year’s program: instructions, promotional materials, point structure, wellness challenge information and more.

While it’s up to your co-op to decide what incentives are offered to participants who achieve their point goal (usually 100 points), the POWER Wellness team and Wellness listserv are great resources for creative, lower cost incentive ideas. From sporting event tickets or a catered lunch to cash for their tax-advantaged account, co-ops use rewards that run the gamut.

Even better, you can opt-in to the Rewards for Life program at any time throughout the year at no additional cost for NRECA Medical Plan participants. However, if you want your co-op to participate in the forthcoming Invitation Team Steps Challenge, your co-op must opt-in to the program on or before Wednesday, July 25, 2018.

About the Invitational Team Steps Challenge
On August 8, 2018, registration opens for the Invitational Challenge; Rewards for Life program participants can create a team, join a team, or be randomly assigned to a team of five for this five-week challenge, which can be accessed from WebMD MyHealth Manager or the WebMD mobile app, Wellness At Your Side (available from the Apple App Store and Google Play). Teams will compete head-to-head, stepping their way to Invitational Challenge victory and better health.

Earning points during The Invitational Challenge is easy. Participants must log at least 10,000 steps for 15 or more days to earn points! Steps can be tracked manually or using WebMD MyHealthManager’s device syncing feature.

Each week of competition, one team will be selected by drawing to receive a $100 Visa gift card for each team member.

Here are the key challenge dates:

  • Registration: Wednesday, August 8 – Tuesday, August 14, 2018; no late registrations are allowed
  • Challenge: Wednesday, August 8 – Wednesday, September 19, 2018
    • The first week, August 8-14, serves as a warm up week
  • Steps must be entered within 24 hours of the end of each round. Rounds end on Tuesdays, so steps must be entered by the end of the day on Wednesdays.
