Remember the March 15 Distribution Acknowledgement Deadline

March 1 was the deadline to distribute your cooperative’s 2019 Group Benefits Program summary plan description (SPD) and summary of material modifications (SMM) documents to plan participants. Remember to complete an acknowledgement by March 15 for each SPD or SMM you distributed. Also acknowledge distributing any documents from before 2019, if they are still outstanding.

Acknowledge each document listed under the “Documents Requiring Acknowledgement” header on the Group Plan Documents page of the Employee Benefits website. A checklist is also available online to guide you through the process.

Reminder Schedule
If your co-op has pending acknowledgements, you will receive periodic reminders to complete the acknowledgement process through the Message Center. However, once the March 15 acknowledgement deadline passes, if your co-op still has pending acknowledgements on March 31, the benefits compliance team will reach out individually to benefits administrators, first via email and then by phone, to let you know. Email reminders will be sent April 1. For this reason, and to keep the plans in compliance, be sure to finish your distribution acknowledgements before the March 15 deadline.
