COBRA administration by UMR is a new option co-ops in the NRECA Medical Plan will be able to elect during the benefit renewal period for an effective date of January 1, 2015. The purpose of COBRA administration by UMR is to simplify and reduce the benefits administrator’s responsibilities for administering COBRA and the associated duties for premium billing and collection, and it will come at no additional cost to co-ops in the NRECA Medical Plan that elect it.
