Introducing a New Way to Brag on Your Benefit Programs

You know the value of your cooperative’s investment in its employee benefits program, but do your co-op employees? While employee benefits remain one of the top components of co-op compensation packages, most employees may not fully understand the true value of their co-op’s investment or the role these programs play in their overall compensation.

NRECA is here to help! Our new Value of Benefits campaign provides co-ops participating in NRECA employee benefit programs with turnkey tools and resources to help you brag on your co-op benefits.

This campaign builds on our language research initiative – using words that resonate with co-op audiences to create engaging materials with succinct value-driven messaging designed to increase awareness and appreciation of your co-op’s investment in their current and future well-being.

What’s available
The new Value of Benefits page in the BA Guide provides benefits administrators with background as to why it’s important for co-op employees to understand their benefit programs as it ties back to recruiting and retention goals. Additionally, this release includes a list of communication best practices, a new employee checklist and visuals that articulate how NRECA and its vendor partners work together to provide comprehensive resources and tools.

What’s next
Throughout the year, additional modules will be released with new materials offered in a blend of print, infographics, videos and more. In 2024, we will be focused on going “back to the basics” in order to build a general awareness of the 401(k) Pension Plan, Retirement Security (RS) Plan and NRECA Medical Plan. Our summer release will be focused on the RS Plan.
