Initial ACA Tax Reporting Deadlines Next Week
Two deadlines for Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax reporting occur next week.
- February 28, 2024 is the deadline to file paper returns (Form 1095-B or Form 1095-C) and transmittal forms (Form 1094-B or Form 1094-C) with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
- March 1, 2024 is the deadline to provide Form 1095-B or Form 1095-C returns to employees and other responsible individuals as applicable.
The final ACA tax filing deadline, which is for filing electronic returns (Form 1095-B or Form 1095-C) and transmittal forms (Form 1094-B or Form 1094-C) with the IRS, is April 1, 2024. Remember, electronic filing is required beginning this year if an employer is filing 10 or more returns in total. Information on how to register and file electronically is available on irs.gov.
