Early Refill Prescription Limits Waived for NRECA Medical Plan Participants
As announced recently, at the direction of the NRECA Group Benefits Program, CVS Caremark is expanding its waiver of early refill limits on prescriptions for maintenance medications at all in-network pharmacies (excluding controlled substances) for participants in the NRECA Medical Plan. Participants are being encouraged to refill maintenance medications for the maximum quantity allowed (up to a 90-day supply at Exclusive Choice retail locations and through CVS Caremark mail order). Doing so will allow participants to avoid any potential disruption in their medication schedule adherence – especially for individuals impacted by travel restrictions or other social distancing recommendations in effect.
CVS has implemented automatic override for early refills at in network pharmacies, effective March 31, 2020.
Participants are still responsible for copay and/or coinsurance requirements as outlined in each plan’s cost sharing arrangement. This includes the $0 copay option for generic medications filled at Exclusive Choice pharmacies. CVS is providing free home delivery, where available, from CVS retail pharmacies for all prescriptions through May 1, 2020.
Participants can manage their prescriptions by calling CVS Customer Care or by logging into the CVS website.
