Reminder: Distribute 401(k) Safe Harbor Notices by November 30

If your cooperative’s NRECA-sponsored 401(k) Pension Plan features the Safe Harbor provision, you should have already received and distributed your 2019 Safe Harbor notice.

This notice describes the provisions of both the 401(k) Plan and the Safe Harbor feature so that employees can make informed participation choices.

Give the notice to current 401(k) Plan participants by November 30, 2018. During 2019, give the notice to new employees no more than 90 days before the date on which they become eligible to participate in the plan.

Remember to acknowledge distribution of the Safe Harbor notice. Fill out the online acknowledgement form located on the Retirement Plan Documents page of the Employee Benefits website.
