CVS Health Acquires Aetna

CVS Health has acquired Aetna, a leading U.S. health care benefits company, according to CVS Health in a December 3 news release. The transaction is expected to be completed by the second half of 2018, pending regulatory approvals and other conditions.

CVS Caremark is a subsidiary of CVS Health and is NRECA’s pharmacy benefit manager. There is no immediate impact to NRECA’s Medical Plan participants regarding coverage or administration of prescription drugs.
