Congress Delays “Cadillac Tax” to 2022 in Government Funding Law

Congress delayed the Affordable Care Act’s “Cadillac Tax” to 2022 in the short-term government funding package enacted into law on January 22, 2018. Originally set to go into effect in 2013, it was postponed by Congress to 2018, then 2020, and now 2022.

NRECA, along with our affiliated trade groups and coalitions, continues to push for a full and total repeal of this tax, but is  pleased with this delay as it will provide us with more time to work to achieve our goal of full repeal.

NRECA’s Government Relations team will continue to monitor the situation, and will provide cooperatives with information as it becomes available.
