Coming in 2026: Teladoc Health Primary Care and Dermatology

The new year will bring new opportunities for NRECA Medical Plan participants to receive timely, convenient virtual care.

Beginning January 1, 2026, Teladoc Health® services will include Primary Care, designed for preventive and ongoing management of care, and Dermatology for skin conditions like psoriasis, acne or infections. Participants will continue to have access to 24/7 Care (formerly “General Medical”) for urgent, non-emergency needs and Mental Health services.

In 2026, consultations for all Teladoc services will continue with no additional cost to participants.

Primary Care
Teladoc Primary Care offers a reliable, convenient and quick-access option for participants who may have to wait weeks or months to see their local primary care doctor, or who may not have an established primary care doctor. Appointments with a dedicated Teladoc primary care provider can be scheduled for within five days of the appointment request.

Primary care includes:

  • Access by phone or video to a board-certified doctor or nurse practitioner.
  • Consultations for participants 13 and older for non-urgent medical needs.
  • Annual checkups for participants 18 and older.
  • A personalized care plan created by Teladoc after a participant’s first consultation, which may include referrals for lab tests or imaging.
  • The opportunity for participants to schedule future appointments with the same Teladoc provider for continuity of care.

Dermatology
Participants can upload images of their skin condition to share with a Teladoc dermatologist and receive a diagnosis and treatment plan (and prescription, if needed) within two business days. The Teladoc dermatologist may also refer the participant to a local dermatologist for additional care and treatment.

Participants have the option to message a dermatologist for up to seven days from the initial diagnosis with additional questions or concerns.

Mental Health
Also new in 2026, Teladoc Mental Health services will include:

  • A mental health self-assessment on the Teladoc website or app that can guide participants to the right care for their needs.
  • Self-guided online programming, featuring content and activities designed to address a variety of mental health concerns or needs.
  • Coaching, in which participants can connect live with a certified coach by chat, video or phone.
