Reminder: Combined Medical and Prescription Drug Premiums Will Appear on Next Week’s January 2018 Group Invoice

As announced previously, combined medical and prescription drug premiums will begin appearing on group benefits invoices starting with the January 2018 bill, which will be posted next week. The “Medical” premium shown on the invoice will be the premium for medical and prescription drug coverage; a separate prescription drug premium will not appear (in most cases).

In the case of retroactive adjustments (e.g., new hires, terminations and other coverage changes) that occur before January 1, 2018, the invoice will continue to display separate medical and prescription drug billing lines until these adjustments are resolved. Generally, retroactive adjustments from the previous year occur in the first quarter of the year, though some may happen later in the year. NRECA will be reaching out to cooperatives with multiple retroactive adjustments to provide assistance.

Retroactive adjustments for effective dates on or after January 1, 2018, and going forward will appear as a single, combined premium on the invoices.
