Certain COVID-19-related Group Benefit Plan Modifications Extended

As originally communicated on March 25, with additional details following on April 8, 2020, NRECA has updated benefit programs and worked with our vendor partners to implement additional measures as we monitor the spread of COVID-19 and respond to relief provided through recent legislation.

As the virus continues to impact cooperative communities across the country, NRECA wanted to provide you with extension information for the relief measures and resources currently in effect. Additionally, as you communicate these updates to your co-op’s employees, we have updated the email template to reflect the available resources and revised timelines.

Pharmacy
NRECA’s pharmacy benefit manager, CVS Caremark, is continuing to temporarily waive early refill limits on 30-day prescriptions for maintenance medications at all in-network pharmacies (excluding controlled substances). Participants are being encouraged to refill maintenance medications for the maximum quantity allowed (up to a 90-day supply. CVS is also temporarily providing free home delivery from CVS retail pharmacies for all prescriptions.

Teladoc
NRECA’s telemedicine partner, Teladoc, will continue to waive the $45 consultation fee for individuals in the high-deductible health plan through June 30, 2020. The three-day prescription limit for Georgia residents have been waived while under a state of emergency. Appointments can be made through the website, app or by calling 800.835.2362. Teladoc can be accessed through the NRECA Employee Benefits website at cooperative.com > My Benefits > My Insurance > Teladoc or at Teladoc.com/NRECA.

Vision
If your co-op offers a VSP vision plan, participants will continue to have access to medical eye care services through May 31, 2020. VSP providers can provide supplemental medical eye care for the detection, treatment, and management of ocular and visual conditions, including conjunctivitis, eye trauma, or sudden changes in vision. Participants should contact their regular VSP provider or call VSP Customer Care at 800.877.7195 for assistance in locating an eye doctor.
