Acknowledge Distributing 2023 Group SPDs and SMMs

March 1 was the deadline to distribute your cooperative’s 2023 NRECA Group Benefits Program summary plan description (SPD) and summary of material modifications (SMM) documents. The final step in the process is to complete the distribution acknowledgements by March 15.

Outstanding acknowledgements are listed under “Documents Requiring Acknowledgement” on the Group Plan Documents page of the Employee Benefits website. Use the checklist online to guide you through the acknowledgement process. Or, watch the Distribution Acknowledgement Tutorial, which is located on the Employee Benefits website in the Compliance subsection under Webinars & Videos.

If your co-op still has outstanding acknowledgements after March 15, you will receive a distribution reminder via email around April 1. Thereafter, the benefits compliance team will reach out individually by phone to benefits administrators at co-ops that still have pending acknowledgements. To keep the plans in compliance, be sure to finish your distribution acknowledgements before March 15.
